I’m going to give you 3 tips to help you shed the weight as quickly as you can in only a week.
How To Lose 5 Pounds In A Week – Really?
Before you begin taking on any goal, you need to have clear plan of action that is going to get you there.
Losing a significant amount of belly fat that quickly is not going to be easy and will definitely take some smart planning.
But once you have the right program in place, you are definitely going to be able to see some outstanding results in only a week’s time.
So here are my three plans of action to help you get going.
Why Lose Five Pounds In A Week?
The first question to ask is why anyone would want to lose five pounds in only a week.
The average healthy weight loss that people should shoot for is about two pounds per week.
But there are times when losing weight faster might be needed such as an event that you may be attending or a vacation that you may be taking.
You may also have hit a weight loss plateau and stalled with your progress, wanting something to help you start losing again.
1. Tweak Your Diet
The first and most important step when it comes to shedding fat quickly is getting your diet in perfect order.
Your nutrition is going to have the greatest overall influence on your progress.
So if you’re going to make any significant progress in only a week’s time frame, this needs to be addressed first.
So let’s take a look at a few ways you can tweak your diet to shed those pounds fast.
Cut Out All Starchy Carbs
Most people see the fastest results when they cut out all starchy carbs from their diet.
Cutting out all starchy carbs means that the only types of carbohydrates that you will want to consume are those that are green and full of fiber such as:
- Green bean
- Leaf lettuce
You can also eat small amounts of mixed berries that are low in sugar and high in fiber.
All other starchy complex carbs like grains, rice, potatoes, pastas and high carb and sugary fruits are to be omitted.
This small change-up in your nutrition plan alone will be enough to quickly get the body into ketosis and turning to body fat as fuel.
Cutting all of those carbs will also help to eliminate excess water retention in your body, especially in your abdominal region.
Add In Lean Protein
So after you cut out the starchy carbs and add in fibrous veggies, the remainder of your meals should be focused around lean sources of protein, some healthy fats.
Since the focus is on losing a significant amount of fat in only one week, this is not a long term program and hence not a traditional keto diet.
In a traditional keto diet you would focus on a higher fat content, but we are focused on losing weight fast so fat will be lower.
Smaller amounts of healthy fats are good such as coconut and MCT oil.
These fats are actually good for weight loss and can help you to lose weight even faster.
2. Cut Excess Bloat
Next on your list of things to do is to cut out all foods, spices and condiments that are high in sodium, while at the same time restricting your dairy intake.
Again, this is not a long term approach and that is why the elimination of these items is recommended.
Normally, on a low-carb or ketogenic diet dairy is okay and sodium is actually necessary for healthy electrolyte balance and hydration.
Dairy products may not have as big an impact on some people as others, but in many cases the lactose in it does cause water retention and a lot of abdominal bloat.
If you want to slim down in the quickest amount of time possible, it is essential to reduce all bloating and water retention.
Now when it comes to salt, cutting back for most people will really have a considerable effect on water retention in your body as well as bloating.
So you can switch to using salt-free seasonings such as No-Salt and fresh herbs during the week to add flavor to your foods instead.
3. Perform Calorie Burning Training Sessions
Finally, the last important step to shedding as much weight as you can in a week is to tweak your training program to burn as many calories as possible.
This means to focus on performing high intensity cardio sessions and high repetition weight training sessions for your workouts.
These workout teaks are going to work well with the nutrition tips outlined above, especially cutting out the starchy carbs.
When you are on a low carb diet, the high rep training sessions will help to deplete the glycogen stores in your muscles, getting you into ketosis faster.
When all of the glycogen is depleted and you are in ketosis, your body will be burning only fat for fuel.
For a one week fat loss blitz, it’s the perfect training style to accelerate the fat loss process.
So there you have it, three tips you can easily implement for one week fat loss frenzy.
Simply follow the steps outlined above and you will be well on your way to seeing that big difference in only a week.
